Aegean Airlines is the flag carrier airline of Greece and is the largest airline in the country. It was founded in Athens, Greece in 1987. They commenced operations with the Avro RJ-100 in 1999 from Athens. Aegean then aquired Olympic Air in 2013. Aegean is a part of the Star Alliance and currently has a fleet of 55 aircraft. They carried 7.2 million passengers in 2021.
