It constitutes a single beach together with Perivolos. It has got thin black sand and is located on the foothills of Mesa Vouno on top of which Ancient Thera was built, while separating the beach from Kamari. It is an organised beach and it includes umbreallas-lounge chairs as well as a water park and a diving centre. There are beach bars, taverns and hotels along the beach also in Perivolos. In Perissa you can come across the dominant figure of temple of the Holy Cross that is the biggest temple in Santorini. If you enjoy walking, you can follow the path towards Mesa Vouno in order to reach the chapel of the so-called Low Profitis Ilias: from this point you can enjoy the breathtaking view of the island and the Aegean Sea! Another interesting path is the one that leads to Panagia Katefiani.
